Asmahan (Arabic: أسمهان) was a Syrian singer who gained fame in Egypt. She was known for her exceptional voice, which posed serious competition to some of the leading figures in the Arab music world. Asmahan sang compositions by her brother, a legendary musician, and also appeared in a couple of movies.
