Asura is an electronic music project based in Lyon, France, known for its styles including psybient, ambient, downtempo, and goa trance. The project was formed in 1996 as a duo consisting of Charles Farewell and Vincent Villuis. In 1998, Christopher Maze joined the group. However, in 2001, Villuis left to focus on his new project Aes Dana, and was replaced by Alex Ackerman the same year. Following the departures of Maze and Ackerman in July 2005, Asura became a solo project for Charles Farewell.
