Atoms Family, established in 1995, began with over 30 members across the tri-state area. The crew gained recognition through performances at open mics, local showcases, and street ciphers in NYC. In 1996, members Cryptic One, Whichcraft, and Molecule recorded and released the first official project from the Atoms collective, the EP "Beyond Human Comprehension" by Centa of da Web. This release helped put Atoms on the map beyond the local NYC hip hop scene and marked the beginning of an impressive decade-long discography.
