Augusto Algueró, born Augusto Alguero Dasca on February 23, 1934, in Barcelona, Spain, was a notable Spanish composer, arranger, and orchestra leader. He passed away on January 16, 2011, in Torremolinos, Malaga, Spain. Known also as Augusto Algueró hijo or Augusto Algueró Jr./Jnr., he was the son of an arranger, composer, and publisher, and the father of composer García. He was previously married but the details of his ex-wife are not provided. Algueró began composing at a young age, and as a minor, his father registered him with the rights society SGAE, leading to shared revenues between the roles of music composer (the son) and music publisher (the father). Many songs were co-written, often credited solely to "Augusto Algueró," which has led to some confusion in crediting. Some of the songs attributed to Augusto Algueró Dasca include "Canta Conmigo," "La Montaña," "Porque No Soy Un Angel," "Don Quijote," "Las Chicas de la Cruz Roja," "Enamorada," "Eres diferente," "Estando contigo," "Me conformo," "Siempre es domingo," "Penélope," "Te quiero, te quiero," "La chica ye-ye," and "Tómbola." His close collaboration with lyricists is noted, and it is important
