AWOL One, hailing from Planet Zero, California, is a veteran in the hip-hop scene with a career spanning over a millennium. He burst onto the music landscape in 1988, inspired by KDAY and breakdance music, and quickly became immersed in DJing, performing at underground parties and nightclubs. In 1995, he joined the “Lowrider Magazine” American Tour for Thump Records, opening for notable acts like Roger and ZAPP. AWOL One is also an accomplished graffiti artist, despite facing legal challenges in 1991. His unique melodic rap style has resonated with audiences globally, garnering interest from numerous West Coast producers. Throughout his career, AWOL One has collaborated with a variety of artists and producers, including Daddy Kev, Fat Jack, DJ Choc, and Evidence of Dilated Peoples, among others. AWOL One's performances are known to be transformative experiences, whether he is solo or performing with The Shapeshifters. He has shared the stage with prominent acts such as Common, Eminem, De La Soul, and Cypress Hill, showcasing his versatility and appeal. His music has gained significant exposure, featuring on platforms like MTV Road Rules and in publications such as URB, Spin, and L.A. Weekly. AWOL One has received accolades, including the 2002 LA Weekly Music Award, and remains active in the music scene, with airplay across college, commercial mix shows, and XM Radio throughout the U.S
