Burton, who played guitar, co-wrote the hit "I Am Woman" in May 1972 with Australian singer Helen Reddy. McGuire, on bass, had a background as a recording engineer and producer, and was part of various Australian groups since the late 1950s, including the Statesmen, the Epics, and the Questions.
