**Bio of Baby Bertha** Baby Bertha emerged from the remnants of the band Relative in late 1971. The lineup underwent several changes before solidifying with Dave Ellis on guitar and vocals, Des Law on drums, Ian Mclaughlin on bass, and Roger 'Proff' Perry on rhythm guitar. Throughout 1972, the band gained popularity, performing along the south coast from Hastings to Southampton. In January 1972, they recorded a demo LP at SRT Studios in Luton, featuring songs primarily written by Dave Ellis. However, musical differences arose when Des Law expressed a desire to transition from drumming to becoming a DJ. This led to the recruitment of Pete Gibbons, the drummer from Sweet Poison, after a chance meeting at the Bournemouth Folk and Rock contest in February 1973. Following a successful jam session, they formed a new band called Charge. Tragically, both Pete Gibbons and Roger Perry have since passed away. **Members:** Dave Ellis (vocals, guitar), Ian Mclaughlin (bass guitar), Roger 'Prof' Perry (guitar), Desmond Law (drums).
