Bachelors Anonymous was a synth-pop band formed in Pasadena, California, in 1984 by Robert Berg and David Hughes, who met at a Catholic choir. They initially collaborated with John Fleck and Charlotte McGuinness on their first Zombie Jamboree. The duo took their name from Harry Hay’s 1948 prospectus for the International Bachelors’ Fraternal Order for Peace & Social Dignity. Their debut performance took place on January 24, 1985, alongside artists like Scott Carter and Fred Wolf. Known for their candid songs and theatrical presentations, Bachelors Anonymous not only performed and recorded music but also created scores for theater and dance. The band remained active until 1992, featuring various session and live performers throughout its run, including Bonnie Cirino, Carrah (Macy) Wright, Zack, Nancy Taylor, Tom Kidd, Lee Demko, Anne (Atwell-Zoll) Merino, and Ann Russell.
