Baciamibartali was formed in June 1981, featuring Tarcisio Lancioni on vocals, Francesco Guidobaldi on bass, Ido Borsini on guitar, and Carlo Iura on drums. In April 1982, they recorded their debut LP, "Baciamibartali / Winter Light," for their own label, Sequence Records, with Robert Clark replacing Ido on guitar and producing the record. In 1984, the band, now including Stefano Mengascini on keyboards, released a three-song 12" EP titled "The Mournful Gloom" for Contempo Records. In 1992, Carlo and Francesco Pirro, with Robert Clark's assistance on guitar and production, created a 12-song CD called "Grey Sunset" for PH Records, which was distributed by Contempo International. In 1993, a song from "Grey Sunset," titled "Mother Rust," was featured in the compilation "Contempo 93" by the Mexican label Opcion Sonica. The band dissolved in early 1995. On Christmas 1997, Carlo compiled outtakes, demos, and live material for the final Baciamibartali release, "Postuma."
