Bacon Fat, originally known as the Southside Blues Band, was an American blues band formed in 1968 in Los Angeles, CA. The group consisted of Buddy Reed, Richard Innes, Gregg Schaefer, J.D. Nicholson, Jerry Smith, and Rod Piazza. They released two albums in the following years and ultimately disbanded in the early 1970s. Their music was entirely dedicated to the electric Chicago blues sound.
