Bad Medicine was a bayou-funk and blues band from Syracuse, New York, formed on Halloween day in 1968 and disbanded in December 1975. The band was notable for its all-white Caucasian lineup, which was a rarity in the predominantly black genres of blues and funk at the time. During their seven years of activity, Bad Medicine opened for several prominent blues acts, including Lightnin' Hopkins, Muddy Waters, and Mitch Ryder. Their repertoire consisted of a mix of self-written material and covers of other funk bands. They achieved a minor hit with their single "Trespasser," a funky instrumental track recorded in the winter of 1974.
