Baden Powell Quartet was an ensemble organized and directed by Baden Powell. They debuted in 1970, achieving success with critically-acclaimed tours in Europe and Japan. The quartet recorded over 19 compositions in just three days at Barclay studio in Paris in December 1970, focusing on Afro-Brazilian music, and released them on a three-part LP album. This project marked the first collaboration between Baden Powell and the singer, along with several guest musicians, including a bass flutist, a trombonist, a tenor saxophonist, and a wooden flutist.
