Bah Samba is a musical group formed in early 1996 by Julian Bendall, Kevin Alexander, and Geoff Holroyd, whose surnames combine to create the name Bah Samba. The group consists of naturally talented musicians who aimed to blend traditional musicianship with dance and modern recording techniques at MIDI. Their debut single, "Carnival," was released on Loaded later that same year. During this period, they discovered the young vocalist Alice Russell, whose voice complemented their musical direction perfectly. This collaboration was first realized with the track "Reach Inside" in early Spring of 1997. Bah Samba's sound gained recognition, being featured on the Dimitri from Paris mix album in 2000, where they were noted as his favorite band, showcasing the longevity of their music in an increasingly disposable scene.
