Bahta G. Hiwot is an Ethiopian singer and songwriter, known for performing in Amharic and Tigrignay. He was born in April 1943 in Adigrat, Tigray. At a young age, he was selected to be the singer of the first line-up of the Ras Hotel Band, which was formed in 1960. He later focused on his solo career, which lasted until 1973 when he transitioned to a career as an accountant and left the music industry.
