Baiana System is a musical project established in 2009, aimed at exploring new sound possibilities for the Bahian guitar, an instrument developed in Salvador, Bahia, in the 1940s, which played a key role in the creation of the electric trio. The name "Baiana System" combines "Bahian guitar" with "sound system," referencing the sound systems popularized in Jamaica. The group's initial concept involved using both new and familiar musical bases, allowing the guitar to take on a "singing" role alongside the vocals. In 2016, Baiana System gained international recognition with the track "Playsom," featured in the soundtrack of the video game "Fifa 2016" by Electronic Arts, which is part of their second album, Duas Cidades.
