The Flying Balalaika Brothers, originally formed in Los Angeles in 1995, were established by Zhenya, also known as Z Rock, who was the former lead guitarist of the Russian surf/rockabilly group. The band began as a street ensemble and later evolved into the group Red Elvises, known for their extensive performances in clubs, films, and TV shows across California. After relocating to Austin, TX, Zhenya reformed The Flying Balalaika Brothers, which showcases a unique blend of traditional world music and original compositions.
