Banda Blanca is a salsa and merengue band from Honduras, formed in January 1971. Initially starting as a rock band, they later transitioned to merengue music and subsequently to punta. The band gained international fame in the early 1990s with their hit song "Sopa de Caracol," which reached number one on the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart in the United States.
