Banda de Pifano de Caruaru is a traditional Brazilian band hailing from Caruaru, located in the Pernambuco state of Alagoas. The group, founded in 1924 by brothers Manoel and Benedito Clarindo Biano, is known for playing a variety of self-made instruments, including drums and "pífanos" (fife flutes). They recorded their first album in 1971, and the current lineup consists of the founders' sons and nephews.
