Bappi Lahiri was an Indian musician, composer, and playback singer, born on November 27, 1952, in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. He passed away on February 15, 2022, in Mumbai, India. The son of a famous Bengali singer and a musician well-versed in classical music, Bappi was trained in every aspect of music from a young age, beginning to play the tabla at just three years old. He started his career as a music director for a Bengali film at the age of 19 and became known for popularizing synthesized disco music in Indian cinema. Recognized as the "Disco King" of India, he was a leading music director in Bollywood during the 1980s. Bappi Lahiri was known for singing duets and collaborated with renowned singers, while also providing opportunities for newcomers in the Hindi film industry.
