Barış Manço was a Turkish rock singer, songwriter, and television host, born in Istanbul on January 2, 1943. He passed away on February 1, 1999, from a heart attack. His mother, Rikkat Uyanık, was a well-known Turkish singer in the 1940s. Manço lived in Paris during the 1960s, where he started a band. He is considered one of the most influential pop artists in Turkey and was a founding member of another band.
