Barbara Bailey Hutchison is a Grammy Award-winning vocalist and songwriter known for her smooth and powerful voice. She has performed at the White House three times and has toured all 50 states, as well as Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and Thailand. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Barbara launched her music career while studying art at Michigan State University. She gained recognition by touring colleges and universities across the United States, earning titles such as "Best Solo Performer," "Best Acoustic Performer," and "Best Female Performer" in a national magazine poll. Her voice was also featured in hundreds of commercials for major brands like McDonald's, Hallmark Cards, and Heinz. In 1996, she received the Grammy Award for "Best Musical Recording for Children," marking the pinnacle of her nearly four-decade-long career in music. After retiring from the music business, Barbara returned to her roots as a visual artist.
