Barbara Lewis is a US American soul singer and songwriter born on February 9, 1943, in Salem, Michigan. She began writing songs at the age of nine and started recording as a teenager with a producer. Barbara is best known for her singles "Hello Stranger," which reached #3 on the Billboard charts in 1963, and "Baby I'm Yours," which peaked at #11 on the Billboard charts in 1965. Her smooth style has had a significant influence on Rhythm and Blues.
