Barbara Pitman was born on April 6, 1938, in Memphis, Tennessee, and passed away on October 29, 2005, in the same city. She was one of the few female singers to record at Sun Studio. Her most popular recordings include "I Need A Man" on the Sun label and "Two Young Fools In Love," which was released on Sam Phillips' International label. Despite her talent, it is believed that she could have achieved greater success if she had received more promotion.
