Bardeux is a synth-pop duo originally formed by Jon St. James, known for his work with SSQ and Stacey Q. The group initially consisted of Stacy "Acacia" Smith and Tairrie B, who released the Hi-NRG single "Three Time Lover." After a bitter falling out, Tairrie left the group and later transitioned to gangsta rap, dissing Bardeux in her song "Ruthless Bitch." She eventually fronted the metal bands Tura Satana and My Ruin. Following Tairrie's departure, Lisa "Jaz" Teaney joined the duo, and they released the Hi-NRG/synth-pop album "Bold As Love," which included the top 40 hit "When We Kiss." For their next album, Jaz was replaced by soul singer Melanie Taylor, shifting their sound to house and dance-pop. They achieved a dance hit with "I Love To Bass." Although the group seemingly disbanded after this album, a new song titled "Be My Man" appeared on a Thump Records compilation years later.
