Barefoot Jerry was a band active from 1971 to 1977, known for their fusion of country music and progressive rock, and recognized as a seminal Southern rock band. The group was founded by Wayne Moss, who played guitar, keyboards, and provided vocals, along with other members who played guitar, keyboards, and drums, having previously collaborated in another band. They were later joined by a keyboardist. Following the release of their first album, Gayden left to form a new group, and Buttrey joined another band. The original members were replaced by a guitarist who played steel guitar and horns, along with a new drummer. Sometimes, the term Barefoot Jerry is used to refer specifically to Wayne Moss.
