Barrington Levy, born on April 30, 1964, in Clarendon, Jamaica, began his recording career around 1977. He formed a short-lived duet with his cousin, but by the end of 1978, he was recording under his real name. From 1979 onwards, Levy released album after album, quickly establishing himself in the Dancehall scene.
