Basia Trzetrzelewska, born on September 30, 1954, in Jaworzno, Poland, is a Polish vocalist who gained prominence in the music industry after spending several years in a pop band, an offshoot of Blue Rondo à la Turk. She launched her solo career in 1987 with the help of Matt Bianco, developing a subtle cocktail jazz-pop sound that was first showcased on her debut album released that same year. This album, supported by hit singles, became a success in Europe and America, achieving platinum status with over 1,000,000 copies sold. Her second album, released in 1989, was equally successful, but her third effort in 1994 did not resonate with audiences. After a hiatus marked by personal losses, including the deaths of close friends and her mother, Basia returned to music in 2004, joining her former bandmates in a reunion. She collaborated with the band on a release and later focused on her solo career, producing another album with the assistance of White in early 2009.
