Benny Joy was an American rockabilly artist, born on November 5, 1935, in Atlanta, Georgia. He gained prominence in the 1950s and was known for being part of one of the first American rockabilly bands to tour Europe. Throughout his career, his songs were recorded by various artists, including Marty Robbins, Jackie Wilson, Charlie Rich, Burl Ives, Debbie Reynolds, Johnny Rivers, and Carl Smith. Benny Joy passed away on October 24, 1988.
