Bernard Badie is a prominent producer from Chicago, known for his significant contributions to House Music since the late 1980s. He began his journey as a hot mixer and broadcaster at Chicago’s south side radio station, 89.3 FM, in 1986. In 1990, he ventured into music production under the name ‘Jackin' Bernard Badie’ and established his own label, DJB Records, following advice from Ray Barney of Dance Mania. His first release as ‘Bernard Badie’ came in 1994 with the classic track ‘Time Reveals,’ which has since become a staple in Chicago House music. Throughout the 1990s, he continued to produce music, including the well-received album ‘Sound Traxx’ on the Distance label. Since the turn of the millennium, Bernard has remixed tracks for notable artists such as Ron Trent and Larry Heard, and has created timeless classics like ‘Tonight,’ ‘Truth Hurts,’ ‘A Time To Dance,’ and ‘Imagine.’ Bernard's music is characterized by its quality and variety, ranging from smooth soulful vibes to filtered French House and funky grooves, along with driving late-night beats and downtempo tracks. He has collaborated with renowned vocalists like Robert Owens, Dajae, and Darryl Pandy, and has licensed his work to labels including Cajual, Defected, and Tony Records.
