Bernard Herrmann was an American composer and conductor, born on June 29, 1911, in New York, USA. He passed away on December 24, 1975, in Los Angeles, USA. Herrmann is best known for his original film scores, which include iconic works for films such as Citizen Kane, Vertigo, Psycho, and Taxi Driver. Notably, he remained uncredited for decades for the theme of the Suspense radio show, known as "The Wailing Theme," which he originally composed for the CBS Radio drama series that aired from 1942 to 1962. Remarkably, he died on the same day he completed the score for Taxi Driver.
