Bernard Xolotl is an electronic composer born on June 26, 1951, in Saint-Etienne, France. He was introduced to electronic music as a teenager through the works of musique concrete composers like Pierre Henry and Pierre Schaeffer, although he found inspiration in the early recordings of Pink Floyd. At the age of 18, seeking more freedom to express his ideas, he left France to travel the world, where he befriended notable figures such as composer Terry Riley and his music teacher, Indian master Pandit Pran Nath. In the early 1970s, Xolotl began creating his own music, working in studios across Europe and the US before settling in California in 1974, where he built his own studio. His debut album, "Music by Xolotl," was released two years later, followed by "Journey to an Oracle" in 1977, featuring European musicians he met during his travels. In 1978, after completing a painting based on the Golden Mean with his wife Barbara, he recorded "Return of the Golden Mean," collaborating with Irene Gosnell on violin, Jonathan Kramer on cello, and Cyrille Verdeaux on keyboards. The latter collaboration resulted in the album "Prophecy," released in 1980.
