Bérurier Noir is a French punk band from Paris that gained significant popularity in the 1980s. The band was formed around singer François Guillemot, who later became a researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research specializing in Vietnam, along with a guitarist. They utilized a minimalist setup featuring a rhythm machine, guitar, vocals, and later a saxophone. Known for their committed anti-fascist and anti-racist lyrics, Bérurier Noir aimed to remain independent at all costs. The band disbanded in 1989 but briefly reformed in the 2000s. They have sold thousands of records, and their albums continue to be regularly repressed.
