Betty Everett was an African-American soul singer and pianist, born on November 23, 1939, in Greenwood, Mississippi, USA. She passed away on August 19, 2001, in Beloit, Wisconsin, USA. Throughout her career, she charted eighteen times as a solo artist and three times in duets between 1963 and 1974. Notably, she reached #1 on the R&B chart with "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss)" in 1964 and achieved #2 R&B with "There'll Come a Time" in 1969. Additionally, she collaborated with Butler to hit #1 on the R&B chart with "Let It Be Me" in 1964.
