Betty Harris is an American soul singer, born in 1939 in Orlando, Florida. She is mainly known for her recordings and was mentored by notable figures in the music industry. Her first solo recording was released in 1962, and she achieved major success with her cover of Solomon Burke’s “Cry To Me” in 1963. After retiring from the music business in 1970, she made a comeback in 2005.
