Beverly Glenn-Copeland is a singer and songwriter originally from Philadelphia, who has spent most of his life and career in Canada. A trans man, Glenn-Copeland began his career as a folk singer, incorporating elements of jazz, classical, and blues. He has collaborated with artists such as Ken Friesen, Bruce Cockburn, Gene Martynec, Bob Disalle, and Kathryn Moses, and contributed as a writer on Sesame Street. For twenty-five years, he entertained children as a regular actor on the Canadian children's television show Mr. Dressup. He is best known for his 1986 electronic album Keyboard Fantasies, recorded with equipment like the Yamaha DX7 and Roland TR-707, which gained renewed attention in the 2010s. Prior to his gender transition being publicly known, the album was selected as one of the 70 greatest recordings by women by The Stranger.
