Beverly Glenn-Copeland is a singer and songwriter originally from Philadelphia, who has spent most of his life and career in Canada. He began his career as a folk singer, blending elements of jazz, classical, and blues. Throughout his career, he has contributed to albums by various artists, including Ken Friesen, Bruce Cockburn, Gene Martynec, Bob Disalle, and Kathryn Moses, and he was also a writer for Sesame Street. For twenty-five years, he entertained children as a regular actor on the Canadian children's television show Mr. Dressup. Glenn-Copeland is best known for his 1986 electronic album Keyboard Fantasies, which was recorded using instruments such as the Yamaha DX7 and Roland TR-707. This album was rediscovered in the 2010s and was selected as one of the 70 greatest recordings by women by The Stranger, prior to his gender transition being made public.
