Bezunesh Bekele, also known as Bizunesh Bekele, was an Ethiopian singer born in 1936. She passed away on June 25, 1990. Recognized as the "First Lady of Ethiopian popular music," she is often referred to as Ethiopia's Aretha Franklin. Bekele was active from the early 1960s until the late 1970s.
