Big Daddy Kane is a rapper and producer from Brooklyn, New York City, born on September 10, 1968. The name "Kane" was inspired by the character from the TV show Kung Fu, while "Big Daddy" was derived from Vincent Price’s character in the film Beach Party. He later backronym-ed Kane to mean "King Asiatic Nobody's Equal." He emerged in the late 1980s as a key member of the hip-hop scene.
