Big Joe Turner (May 18, 1911 - November 24, 1985) was an American blues shouter born in Kansas City, MO. He was known for his collaborations with various pianists and small jazz ensembles. Some of his most recognized recordings include "Roll 'Em Pete," "Cherry Red," "Wee Baby Blues," "Chains of Love," "Honey Hush," "Flip, Flop and Fly," and "Midnight Special." Turner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 as a Performer. He passed away in Inglewood, CA. No further details about his personal life, such as his marriage, are provided.
