Bigg Jus is a prominent figure in the underground hip hop scene, known for being a central member of a groundbreaking group in the late 90s that challenged the mainstream hip hop landscape, particularly targeting the pretensions of artists like Puff Daddy. This collective played a significant role in launching Rawkus Records and briefly heralded a new era of creativity in hip hop. Following the group's breakup, Bigg Jus co-founded the well-regarded but short-lived Sub Verse Records and later relocated to Atlanta to establish the label's southern outpost.
