Big L, born on May 30, 1974, was a hip-hop MC from Harlem, New York City. Known for his sharp lyricism and punchline-heavy style, he was a member of the Diggin’ in the Crates Crew. Emerging in the early 1990s, Big L gained recognition for his debut album, Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous, and collaborated with various artists. Tragically, he was shot and killed in Harlem on February 15, 1999, at the age of 24.
