Big Lady K is a female rap artist from Riverside, California. She entered the music scene with the help of prominent hip-hop promoter Cliff Richey Jr., who assisted her in gaining exposure through various shows and events. Her efforts led to a significant milestone when she secured a deal with Priority Records, making her the first artist from the Inland Empire to sign with a major hip-hop label, alongside Rodney O's deal with Atlantic Records. Additionally, she became Priority Records' first female artist. During this time, Big Lady K was a student at La Sierra High School in Riverside, where she introduced future hip-hop artist Robert "ODM" Gutierrez to Richey. This connection ultimately contributed to the formation of the group Lighter Shade of Brown in 1990.
