Big Strick is a Detroit-based producer and DJ known for his deep roots in the city's electronic music tradition. A cousin of Omar S and the founder of 7 Days Entertainment, he emerged in the late 2000s with a raw, analog-driven sound that blends deep house, techno, and soulful minimalism. His music features hypnotic drum patterns and gritty synth textures, reflecting a commitment to authenticity. He gained attention with the 2009 EP “100% Hustler” on FXHE and subsequently began releasing music on his own label. Big Strick has built a respected catalog of vinyl releases, including notable albums like “Detroit Heat” and “Family Affair.” His records are characterized by stripped-down grooves and emotional depth, receiving recognition in underground scenes worldwide. As a producer and mentor, he has played a significant role in the careers of his sons—Generation Next and Butterbandz—who now produce and perform under the 7 Days Entertainment banner. With a straightforward approach and a deep love for the culture, Big Strick continues to embody the uncompromising soul of Detroit music.
