Christopher George Latore Wallace (1972–1997), better known as The Notorious B.I.G., Biggie Smalls, or Biggie, was an American rapper and songwriter. A central figure in East Coast hip-hop, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time. Biggie became known for his relaxed flow, which contrasted with his often dark lyrics. His music was semi-autobiographical, portraying themes of hardship and crime alongside excess and celebration.
