Bill Jennings was an American jazz guitarist, born on September 12, 1919, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He began his musical career with his twin brother, Albert Jennings, in a trio called The Three Spades. Throughout his career, Bill worked with several notable musicians, including Louis Jordan and his Tympany Five, Wild Bill Davis (Trio), Jack McDuff, Willis "Gator" Jackson, Bill Doggett, Louis Armstrong, Chris Powell And His Five Blue Flames, and Hot Lips Page, among others. He was recognized in the title of one of his compilations as "The Architect Of Soul Jazz." Bill Jennings passed away on November 29, 1978, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 59.
