Bill Mack (June 4, 1932 - July 31, 2020) was a prominent radio DJ and songwriter from Texas. He began his career as a singer and radio host at KWFT in Wichita Falls and served as the MC for shows like The Big Six Jamboree and Old Hadocol Western Barn Dance. Mack recorded extensively for Imperial Records before joining Starday, where he produced both hillbilly and rockabilly tracks. In the 1970s, he hosted the Midnight Cowboy Trucking Show on WBAP in Fort Worth and later became a featured country personality on XM Satellite Radio. As a songwriter, his most famous work is the Grammy-winning song "Blue," which was recorded by LeAnn Rimes in 1996. Additionally, he copyrighted the song "Farther Up The Road" (also known as "Further On Up The Road") in March 1961, which was originally written and copyrighted in 1957.
