Bill Withers was a soulful singer and songwriter born on July 4, 1938, in Slab Fork, West Virginia, USA. He passed away on March 30, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. Withers was a late starter in music, cutting his first demos while working as a mechanic for the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation. He released his debut album, "Just As I Am," in 1971 at the age of 33.
