Billy Butler was a soul jazz guitarist born on December 15, 1925, in Philadelphia, PA. He passed away on March 20, 1991, in Teaneck, NJ. Butler co-wrote the 1956 hit "Honky Tonk" and was primarily a session musician, contributing to many Prestige and Atlantic recordings during the 1960s and 70s. Throughout his career, he frequently collaborated with notable artists.
