Billy Emerson was an American R&B singer, songwriter, producer, and label owner, born on December 21, 1925, in Tarpon Springs, Florida. He made significant contributions to the music scene in the mid-1950s, recording for various labels and becoming a notable figure in the Chicago soul scene by the late 1950s. Emerson later decided to dedicate himself to his religion and began composing gospel music. He passed away on April 25, 2023, in Clearwater, Florida.
