Billy Gray was an American western swing guitarist born on December 29, 1924, in Paris, Texas. He became the leader of the Brazos Valley Boys in the early to mid-1950s. Gray co-founded publishing companies with Thompson and was often miscredited for co-writing the 1960 hit song "Chills And Fever," which was actually written by another artist, although he did co-write a song by the same name recorded in 1952. He passed away on May 27, 1975.
